lvg history

Some historical photographs of the LVG CVI in active and post-war civilian service.

The photographs below show the Belgian Military and civilian use of a number of "Reparations" LVG CVI's after the end of hostilities in 1918. Interestingly the LVG CVI was at the birth of 2 major european airlines, Lufthansa which started life as the Deutsche Luft-Reederei and Sabena which started life as SNETA. Both coming into existence in the early 1920's.

Despite their civilian use and registration several machines can still be seen sporting the 5-lozenge camouflage on the wings.
